Inlays & Onlays

Inlays and onlays are an effective way of restoring weakened or damaged back teeth. In most cases, they are used when a filling is not suitable.

Repairing fractured teeth

Inlays and onlays can sometimes provide a less invasive alternative to a crown – providing there is enough tooth left intact.

A dental inlay is used in the centre of the tooth, whilst onlays are slightly larger and cover more of the tooth’s surface, including the outer parts. They can be made from porcelain, gold or composite material (as used in white fillings).

The treatment is typically split over two appointments. Preparation and an impression of the tooth is taken at the first visit. At the subsequent visit the inlay or onlay will be cemented into place.

At Kilburn Dental Studio we pride ourselves on providing high quality dental care in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Take the first step and contact our friendly team to arrange a consultation. We can then discuss the most suitable course of treatment for you.
